The great Sufi poet Rumi wrote:
“If anyone wants to know what “spirit” is, or what “God’s fragrance” means, lean your head toward him or her. Keep your face there close.
Like this.”
This is possibly my favorite poem of all time. It restores me like the smoke/rain/gingerbread/greenhouse my scent sense is fed by. It is a poem about simplicity, about human-scaled miracles. About trust. About home. In my fantasy there is a lost chapter of Alice in Wonderland - after the drink saying Drink Me, after the cake pleading Eat Me - where the adventuring, alien Alice, way down the rabbit hole, far from the familiar and maybe somewhat homesick - comes upon a modest glass with a ginger stem reaching down into a pale golden scent that humbly suggests: Like This...
MAIN NOTES

Its cozy and sexy at the same time.
I bought a large bottle of this on a whim after having only tried it once when it first came out years ago. What a great decision that was, because Like This moves me to incredible depths of emotion. It is pure magic, cutting straight through all the BS. It's the perfume I've been hoping for. I do disagree with those who feel this is a seasonal scent. To me, this is a year-round stunner. The kind of constant companion one should have.
It smells like my Dutch grandparents' farmhouse, in the best possible way. Their flower garden and 200-year-old wooden beams and Oma's perfume and summer fruit and the fields... I honestly feel like I'm back there, this place I can never revisit. It smells like the best moments of my otherwise unhappy childhood, and brings them back in such a healing, loving way. When I wore the sample for the first time, I literally had tears in my eyes at work all day. I haven't been to the Netherlands since right after I graduated, almost 12 years ago. My grandmother doesn't live at that farm anymore, and my grandfather died when I was in middle school. This perfume... When I close my eyes, I am standing in the living room, between the cast iron stove and the dresser that held all Oma's collection of antique pill boxes (I thought they were magic), listening to Opa play piano in his music closet while my mother and uncles talk on the couch. I can see my brothers playing outside by the chicken coop. There's a bowl of blackberries on the table, ones we picked in the woods last night.
I loved most of the perfumes in the Discovery kit, but this...this is special. I had to buy a full-sized bottle.
Love , love, love this scent!!
I ran through the sample so fast that I had to buy a full bottle. This is my favorite from the Discovery kit I bought.
