Bijou Romantique immediately envelopes you in a dense and lush (almost resinous) cloud of benzoin and vanilla, steeped in a beautiful blend of ylang ylang and a muted iris that hangs on both skin and clothing like nobody's business. If Shalimar defined the oriental perfumes of old, Bijou Romantique has picked up the torch and set the bar even higher. This is an absolutely gorgeously modern, unisex oriental masterpiece!
Wow I Absolutely ❤ this fragrance!! I love the smell of a man's scent on me. I know it says for women, but I still smell a man on me. 😈😈
I love this long-lasting cologne. Really, it's suitable for either sex. Every once in a while I get a whiff of myself, and I'm like, wow, that's me that smells so amazing.
I don't mean that I use cologne often (or at all) in my scent collection, I just hadn't previously explored the cologne aisle. I appreciate the visual aid as it related to the idea of XX or XY type scents, and it makes me feel more free to try out things i might not try in a typical store layout. Cologne is a combo of my two favorite scent groups: citrus and musk. The combination works well with my chemistry. It evolves over the day but is always lovely - on me, bright citrus over time yields the stage to musk then lingers in the background content with its performance. This (applied appropriately, of course) is neither too much, nor too little, it is just right. It becomes a scent associated with me, not with the cologne/perfume I am wearing.
Top notes are citrus orange blossom and spice. Underneath: bergamot and musk. Mid-day: This is going to sound strange but “Cologne” is bringing back pleasant childhood memory’s for me. It reminds me of the first scent I ever went crazy over as a child. The notes I perceive in this cologne were applied to a picture in a very fancy scratch and sniff children’s book I was obsessed with. It was a picture of a farm and the scent was a spicy, musky leathery wonderland. I would sneak into the playroom and scratch that picture day after day until the ink was finally rubbed away from the page. I’m extremely pleased that the notes in this scent are back in my life. I am giving this 110% out of 100%. This is the best of the best. I’m not a king but I speculate that Louie the sun king would love this for the complex orange blossom note alone. I just hope that people at Etat Libra d’Orange never figure out I would buy this at any price.
Cologne is a scent that is (happily) long-lasting and great for a man or a woman. It is appropriate for any occasion or situation, including indulging your senses when you're home alone, curled up on the sofa with a drink and a movie. It truly is enchanting, and you can't put your finger on exactly what it is that is drawing your wrist up to breath in the scent all day long.
After choosing 13 other scents in the sample box as my favorites, I ordered a last minute sample of this one as well. I’ve been obsessively smelling my wrist all day trying to find the words to describe why i love it. Rose is one of my favorite florals, but most versions I find of it smell too vintage or are so blended with sweetness that it feels cute.
This scent is for a woman. I feel romantic, powerful and modern wearing it. Absolutely in love.
This scent is hard to reconcile into words, like a lot of scents here. It is a juicy rose with a woody/patchouli undercurrent. The description is quite accurate in that it truly is both virginal and whorish. The seam between seems like a powdery cool modernity. As per usual, allow this scent to morph in it's time because the first impression is not it's true heart, not even close. And a few hours out it becomes an unimaginably beautiful compulsion. Do yourself a favor and put some on the back of your hand so it's less conspicuous that you are obsessively smelling yourself. Put some on the backs of your ears and high on your neck if you want to become the source of another poor soon-to-be-lost soul's compulsion...
Fils de Dieu wears like a dirty, culinary citrus. Lime is offset by semi-sweetened spices like coriander, cardamom, & ginger, which is all thrown out of orientation by the blend of coconut & rice accords. This is one of those perfumes where the uncertainty of what you're smelling at any moment is what keeps you coming back for more. A perfect spring-to-summer unisex fragrance.
